H.E. Amit Kumar

Ambassador of India to ROK

  

Ambassador Amit Kumar is a career diplomat and joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1995. He has wide ranging experience having served in Headquarters and in several Indian Missions abroad. He has dealt with both bilateral and multilateral work in diverse areas such as political, strategic and economic spheres. Prior to taking up his current assignment as the Ambassador of India in Seoul, he was Consul General of India in Chicago. 

His recent assignments included stints as the Deputy Chief of Mission in the Embassy of India, Washington DC with Ambassador-rank, Joint Secretary for Development Partnership Administration and as Joint Secretary for Human Resources Management in the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi. He was also Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of India in Tokyo. He has previously served as Under Secretary (China) and Director in the Foreign Secretary’s Office in New Delhi. 

His overseas assignments include stints in a number of key capitals as Third Secretary in the Embassy of India, Beijing; First Secretary dealing with political work in the Embassy of India, Berlin; First Secretary / Counsellor dealing with political, information, cultural and education work at the Embassy of India, Ankara; Counsellor and Head of the Economic & Commercial Wing in the Embassy of India, Beijing; and Counsellor / Minister dealing with Third Committee and UNSC matters in the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations, New York. 

Ambassador Kumar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.

As the Country Head at TATA Consultancy Services (TCS), he engages with client leadership in South Korea to nurture alliances, foster growth, and shape outcomes for clients by improving their bottom line via digital transformation. He has a Bachelors in Electronics and Telecommunication, & has successfully delivered several large-scale projects across geographies, providing strategic, functional, and technical direction on key engagements. He has also completed an Executive Leadership Program at INSEAD Singapore. 

He is passionate about leading a diverse and talented team, collaborating with global partners, and driving excellence and innovation. In his previous role, he was stationed in Amsterdam, Netherlands where we closely worked with Banking and financials services clients across Europe with a focus on optimizing throughput for risk and compliance regimes using AI/ML solutions. Mr. Anil Sinha

Mr. Anil Sinha is currently COO & Vice President of Tata Daewoo.
 

Mr Anil Sinha, a Graduate in Mechanical Engineering and PGDM, is working as Chief Operating Officer with TATA Daewoo Commercial Vehicles Ltd (a 100% Subsidiary of TATA Motors Ltd, India) based at Gunsan, South Korea. His responsibilities include the Manufacturing, Purchasing, R&D and the Quality function for TDCV, besides spearheading Strategies to steer Company’s future in a positive direction and enhance Customer experience.

Mr Anil Sinha worked as Head Quality (CVBU), Head-Mfg Operations Passenger Car business and Plant Head-Pune Plant, before moving to TDCV Korea.

Before joining Tata Motors, he was working as a Plant Head, New Holland FIAT India Ltd (NHFI) for 15 years. During this assignment, he was responsible for the complete plant operations for two plants namely Tractor Assembly and Axle Assembly Plant.

Mr. Sinha’s 35 years of work experience includes working at Mitsubishi Motors Corporation Japan, while working with VE Commercial vehicles Ltd and extensive work experience in a Multi-cultural and Multi Language work environment in North America, Europe and Latin America, while working with NHFI.
 

Mr. Sinha is also a certified Six Sigma Champion from ASQ.
 

He is on the Board of Directors for Fiat India Automotive Pvt Ltd.


Hobbies: Recently developed interest in Golf and enjoys reading and music.

Mr. Sachin Satpute

Sachin Satpute is President of Novelis Asia. Novelis is the leading producer of flat-rolled aluminum products and the world’s largest recycler of aluminium.Since 1st June 2016, in this role, he is responsible for leading the overall business strategy and P&L of Novelis’ Asia-Pacific business, which includes sales to the automotive, beverage can and specialty product markets. He also has oversight responsibilities with Ulsan Aluminum, a joint venture between Novelis Korea and Kobe Steel, Japan.

Prior to being named to this position in June 2016, Sachin served as Chief Marketing Officer, Hindalco Industries Limited. Before that, he held roles of increasing responsibility within Novelis, including Director, Business Development &Strategy for Novelis Asia; Vice President, Sales, Marketing & Technical Services for Novelis Asia; and Managing Director of Aluminium Company of Malaysia Berhad (ALCOM).

Sachin has nearly 30 years of experience in the aluminium industry, having started his career at INDAL, which was a subsidiary of ALCAN, Canada.

Sachin holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Pune University and MBA in Marketing from Mumbai University. He is a graduate of Novelis’ inaugural Global Leadership Program and was named an Aditya Birla Fellow.

 

He is avid sports lover having played competitive Cricket and Table tennis. His other interests include reading, traveling and music.

A legal professional with a diverse background spanning law, engineering, and Asian studies, Mr. Won holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Pepperdine University School of Law, complemented by a Master of Science (M.S.) in Civil Environmental Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Asian Studies and Premedical Studies from Tufts University. Mr. Won was admitted to the California bar and the US District Court, Central District of California. He is fluent in Korean, English, and Japanese. He specializes in Life Sciences and Healthcare, Labor & Employment, Environment, Occupational Safety and Health, and Serious Accidents Punishment Act. After joining BKL as a partner in November, 2013, he has continued to practice on various transactions in the above areas and further advised on Open Source Software license and compliance.  

He also has been a non-standing director of Korean National Pension Service since September 2014.
