On the occasion of India's 75th Republic Day, H.E. Ambassador Mr. Amit Kumar and Mrs. Surabhi Kumar hosted a Reception on January 26, 2024, at the Floating Island Convention Center at Sevit Island in Seoul. The Chief Guest was H.E. Mr. Kim Hong-Kyun, 1st Vice Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the Honorable Lim Jong-Seong, Vice Chairman, RoK-India Parliamentary Friendship Group, as the Guest of Honor. Over 500 distinguished guests attended, including Ambassadors, government representatives, business leaders, and members of the Indian diaspora.

The event began with National Anthems sung by a Korean children's choir, Brilliante. H.E.   Ambassador Mr. Amit Kumar highlighted India's democratic journey, milestones, and ongoing transformation. He emphasized the strong India-ROK relationship, with both nations exploring new avenues of cooperation in various sectors. Chief Guest H.E. Kim Hong-Kyun congratulated India, acknowledging shared democratic values and the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties. The Honorable Lim Jong-Seong praised India's historical significance, economic prowess, and commitment to science and technology.

Cultural performances included Indian classical dance and music, drawing applause. Video clippings showcased Incredible India and the Republic Day Parade. Four booths highlighted Indian culture, tourism, business opportunities, and defense industry cooperation, engaging Korean guests. The Floating Island Convention Center at Sevit Island was illuminated with the Indian flag's tricolors, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Guests enjoyed Indian cuisine, making the National Day Reception a memorable celebration.
