



[Event] The Indian Chamber of Commerce in Korea (ICCK) organized its 48th Speaker Forum - "Key Labor & Union Legal Issues & Best Practices" on November 14th. The forum was co-organised by our member Yulchon LLC Law with the support of our Event Committee chair Mr. Jeremy A. Everett.
The forum featured distinguished speakers: Mr. Christopher Mandel Senior Foreign Attorney Ms. Soojung Lee, Senior Foreign Counsel Mr. Tae Eun Lee, Partner at Yulchon Law
The forum began with Mr. Christopher Mandel providing valuable insights on the complexities of employment termination in Korea. He shared information about certain exceptions where businesses may not need to meet these just cause criteria, offering a clearer path for navigating the process.
Following this, Ms. Soojung Lee spoke about the benefits of mutual separation, emphasizing how it can be a positive and effective solution for both employees and companies. She stressed the importance of thorough preparation and strategic negotiation, highlighting how a well-executed mutual separation can help corporations.
Mr. Tae Eun Lee addressed key aspects of labor union law and the prevalent issues faced by companies in Korea. Highlighting potential risks of unfair labor practices, he offered valuable guidance on how companies can proactively navigate these challenges. His insights emphasized the importance of understanding labor laws to mitigate legal problems. The informative forum was then culminated by a Q&A Session.
