






A special seminar focused
on investment opportunities in India took place at Lotte Hotel Seoul on August
29, 2024. The event was a collaborative effort by the Indian Chamber of
Commerce in Korea (ICCK), Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas (S.A.M.), the Embassy of India
in Korea, and KOTRA, with sponsorship from the Korean Bar Association. It aimed
to illuminate the legal and regulatory landscape for potential investors in
India.
The seminar featured notable speakers, including
Mr. Ramesh Iyer, Chairman of ICCK, who highlighted the complexities of the
Indian legal framework as crucial for tapping into the market's potential. Vice
President Kim Hong-jung represented the Korean Bar Association, emphasizing
India's strong economic recovery and growth prospects.
H.E. Ambassador Amit Kumar shared a positive
outlook on India's economic potential, encouraging Korean investments. Mr.
Shardul S. Shroff, Chairman of S.A.M., stressed the importance of understanding
India's culture and geography for successful investment. Advisor Sanjiv
Malhotra provided insights through case studies, while Mr. Park Jongbaek from
Bae, Kim & Lee LLC analyzed the evolving legal landscape for Korean
businesses.
The seminar concluded with a Q&A session,
fostering a warm and engaging atmosphere. ICCK plans to continue organizing
similar events to enhance Indian-Korean business relations.
