Passenger Vehicle sales in the local market reported its steepest decline falling by 51% to 143,014 units last month, as the nationwide lockdown to check the spread of the coronavirus pandemic hit production and dispatches.
The sharp decline in wholesale last month dragged down overall volumes in the industry last fiscal year by 18% to 21,548,494 units. While sales of passenger vehicle sales last fiscal fell 17.82% to 2,775,679 units, those of commercial vehicles declined 28.75% to 717,688 units, Two-wheeler sales last fiscal dropped 17.76% to 17,417,616 units.
