It took 34 years for Japanese brand Yamaha to hit the 10-million-unit-mark in India.The company,Which has just hit that production figure, started operations in 1985.
Yamaha's three manufacturing facilities in Surajpur,Faridabad and Chennai jointly contributed to the overall production of the company, and 10 millionth product rolled out at this ceremony was Yamaha's best-selling motorcycle model FZS-FI Version 3.0 from its Chennai factory.
The company clocked five million units alone in the last seven years between 2012 and 2019. The scooter models in this period contributed to 44% of the overall production with Fascino being the major contributor.
