The National Museum of India here said Saturday that it began a Korean language audio guide service for its visitors earlier this week.

The museum, with a total of more than 200,000 relics, already offers audio guides in Hindi, English, German, French and Japanese. Korean has become the sixth language available for its visitors, museum officials said.

They said the museum was offering in-depth Korean language explanations of its 64 major relics, including the "Dancing Girl" of Mohenjodaro, since Friday.

The Korean Culture Center in New Delhi had pushed for the introduction of Korean language services to the museum under sponsorship from Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor, the Korea Tourism Organization and Korea International Trade Association.

Park Byung-gyu, a Korean resident in New Delhi, said, "Detailed explanations in the Korean audio guide help me to widen my understanding of major Indian relics on display at the museum."

A museum official also said that more South Korean visitors are expected to visit his museum to widen their knowledge of India's history and culture.
